Doing School Work: That’s right! We have work to do to keep our brains fresh! Everyone has a reading list and we do SummerBridge workbooks to keep our brains fresh. At least 15minutes of work done in workbooks and at least 30 minutes of independent reading everyday. Parents can go to School and Office Annex, Borders or other bookstores to purchase or go online at:

summerbridgeactivities.com

Registering for summer quest/wild reads:

Now that you’re in sixth grade, you get to register for WILD READS! This is an online program where you can earn prizes for reading books including a laptop!

to register go to: http://host.evanced.info/pwc/sr/homepage.asp

to watch the informational video about wild reads, visit http://www.pwcgov.org/default.aspx?topic=040010

Williamsburg! We will be having an official summer vacation by traveling to Williamsburg for the week Friday. We will be visiting Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg, Water Country USA and more.

Have a great week and Summer!

It’s Summer!

Hello everyone!

Today is the first official day of summer! YAY! Have you been reading? Those of you who have been in my 39 Clues lunch bunch, make sure that you continue to either read the books or listen to the audiobooks. Be sure to get to the library and join both Summer Quest for teens- Wild Reads! and be sure to borrow 39 Clues from your local library as well as complete the summer reading that was in your packet.

My family is enjoying their summer. We have been traveling lately and we have taken audiobooks with us on our adventures.

You want to catch up with the original Todd Squad? Check out this blog and I will let you know what we’re up to this week!

Love you all!

~Mrs. Todd

Promotion Ceremony Presentation

We burned CDs for each student, however I know many of you may want to share this will friends and family so we are also posting a link for you to download the presentation.  It is 13MB in size, so many of you may not be able to email it to them; just have them come here and download it on their own.  At some point during the summer I will be removing this link, so please don’t wait too long to download it.   Thank you.

BUSCH GARDENS UPDATE

Busch Gardens!
UPDATES: There have been a few changes; however I think they will be for the better.

  1. Since several parents missed the deadline to turn in money, I had to pay for our tickets and meals Wednesday afternoon out of my pocket. Thank you to everyone who swapped checks with me and we are now fully paid and I am fully reimbursed.
  2. Additionally, missing the due date means that we will have to pick up the tickets at the park; I will distribute the tickets when we arrive to Busch Gardens.
  3. Please arrive to school at 6:45 am on 6/2. We need to pray and get a head count.
  4. If you are travelling directly to the park from your home, please contact me as soon as possible so we are NOT expecting you at the school; then we can leave on-time. Also, when you arrive, please wait for me at the guest relations building outside of the park.
  5. If you do not have a parking pass, regular parking costs $13 dollars per car. I will be able to provide each driver with $3 to help off set some of cost.
  6. Thankfully, we have 41 people attending, so we are fine for the buffet meal at the picnic pavilion!  (The students are very excited. They have told me that they will definitely eat all that they can eat!) Lunch is from 1:00-2:00pm. We will meet at Germany outside of the Festhaus at 12:45 pm. Be on-time, this is the only group meeting time that we have.
  7. The menu has changed: I have made some substitutions without increasing our cost
  • Hamburgers
  • Fried Chicken
  • Barbecue (YAY!!!) instead of hotdogs.
  • Tossed Salad
  • Watermelon (instead of Shamu pops. They pops may melt before we get to eat them.)
  • Soft drinks, ice tea, rolls and cake
  1. The park closes at 6:00 pm. We will meet at the clock in England at 6:00pm for a head count.
  2. SAVE MONEY for Wendy’s; we are stopping at the Wendy’s/KFC outside of the park on the way back to school.  We should arrive at school between 9:00-9:30pm.

Awesome Link

The link below depicts an acclaimed artist who was commissioned to paint a scene of the resurrection of Jesus.  Mr. Simms emailed it to the staff and Ms. Amanda shared it with our class yesterday morning after Spanish. If you have time, be sure to check it out. It left a huge impression with our students!

We’re Back!

Christ Chapel is OPEN , Tuesday February 16th. We are on time!

I don’t know how your streets look, but mine at the end is impassable, which is where school buses turn in the cul-de-sac to go back the other way. This is one reason why the county schools will be closed.

Christ Chapel will be opened because we are plowed, salted and ready to work!

Be safe out there and I will see you in the morning.

Snow Day! but there is work to be done!

Dear Parents: please check the snow day work page here on mrstodd.com so that your student can take advantage of the snow day so that we are not behind.  Students are expected to complete the work and be prepared to turn in all work when we return to school.  Continue to check headmaster and mrstodd.com for updates!

Blessings,

Mrs. Todd
